DECORATION TYPES EXPLAINED

	Blind Embossing This decoration method utilizes a block similar to a stamp, which is heated & through pressure, transfers your logo or design as an indentation. Embossing is often used to imprint leather products such as compendiums & business card holders. Why choose me? If you're looking for subtlety, then this decoration method is the one for you. Blind embossing flaunts your logo in an effective, yet unobtrusive way. Perfect for branding corporate gifts for that discerning businessman or woman.


	Embroidery This decoration method is used only on material or woven items such as caps or shirts. Computerized embroidery machines stitch your logo or design onto apparel. Excellent results can be achieved with the many thread colours available, however it should be noted that the minimum letter height is 4mm to ensure legibility. Why choose me? Durability, baby! Embroidered apparel washes extremely well & certainly stands the test of time. 	Laser Engrave This decoration method is computer generated these days & is typically used on metal objects. 	Pad Printing The decoration method is as the name implies, whereby the image is produced on a cliché – 'engraved' or 'etched plate' - which is flooded with ink; the ink is picked up by a silicon rubber 'pad' & is transferred onto the item to be printed. Why choose me? The pad print is a friend to many & is not discriminative like other decorating methods can be. This process is very effective for printing on surfaces which are not flat. The shape & softness of the pad can be varied to print on a wide range of items & shapes. Furthermore, it works well with a variety of materials, such as plastic, leather, metal & vinyl. Pad printing is ideal for logos or designs which require single or multiple pantone colours (up to four). It should be noted that pad printing has one foe, & that is textured items, as it produces a patchy & inferior quality print.


	Screen Printing This decoration method can be used for printing on a wide variety of materials, but is commonly used in the promotional industry on apparel. The image is produced on a porous ‘screen’ where the ink is squeezed through to transfer your logo or design onto your flat-surfaced garment or product, with each colour requiring a new screen. Why choose me? If you want cost effective and long-lasting branding that will go off with a bang, screen printing is the way to go. Due to the good coverage of the inks used in silk screen printing, the image if very resilient. This method works best with simple logos or designs that are devoid of elaborate detail. Also, unlike pad printing, it is perfect for branding textured items - such as a t-shirt weave - as the ink fills the textured crevasses resulting in a smooth finish.
